QAD ADAPTIVE ERP WITH ADAPTIVE UX 2022.1
Introduction
QAD is pleased to announce the availability of QAD Adaptive ERP 2022.1, the latest version of
QAD’s next-generation ERP solution that includes the Adaptive User Experience (UX) and the
QAD Enterprise Platform.
This release is available as a General Availability (GA) release in the cloud. With this release,
QAD has delivered new adaptive manufacturing capabilities to better address tomorrow’s
challenges and rapidly respond to disruption in the marketplace.
Every QAD Adaptive ERP release is filled with enhancements and updates that address the
agility and adaptability required by manufacturers. Many of these improvements are based on
customer and user feedback. Additionally, our partners, business consultants, industry experts,
and other contributors play a key role in our product development efforts by sharing ideas and
affirming the business benefits for new capabilities.
For this release, customers are encouraged to work closely with their QAD account manager or
partner to learn more about the selection, implementation, and use of new and upgraded
capabilities for their specific business requirements.
These release notes include technical information about QAD Adaptive ERP 2022 with Adaptive
UX 2022.1, including the Web UI and the QAD Enterprise Platform, September 2022. Review this
document before proceeding with any phase of an implementation.
Upgrading and Backwards Compatibility
Improvements
This release introduces key improvements that will improve the upgrade process for this release

Minor Version Update Policy for Third-Party Products
QAD will automatically support minor version changes to third-party products without official
certification—for example, Tomcat 7.0.96 to Tomcat 7.0.109. However, anything beyond
that—for example, an upgrade from Tomcat 7 to Tomcat 9—will not automatically be
supported. Customers who choose to make such an upgrade will be on their own unless they
set up a Services engagement.
Installation Considerations
When installing QAD Adaptive Applications — Enterprise Edition for use with this release of QAD
Adaptive UX, please note the following.
BPM Security Configuration
BPM currently does not support SSL or database security.
OpenEdge TLS Version for Segregation of Duties
Adaptive UX requires OpenEdge TLSv1.2 for segregation of duties. To ensure that the proper TLS
version is enabled, enter the following two settings in the configuration.properties file.
openedge.env.pscsslclient.key=PSC_SSLCLIENT_PROTOCOLS
openedge.env.pscsslclient.value=TLSv1.2
If you do not include these settings during initial installation and activate segregation of duties
at a later time, ensure that you perform this step and then run a yab update.
Web UI Tomcat Maintenance Mode
During environment creation or a YAB update, the Web UI Tomcat server now enters
maintenance mode. In order for this process to run and complete successfully, the application
user that YAB is configured to use must be assigned to a role that allows the use of the system in
maintenance mode. The system checks if the role is set in the following locations in the following
order:
qad-webshell.tomcat.maintenance.mode.role
Administrator role in Security Control
qadadmin or SuperUser role
Enterprise Asset Management Part Location Reconciliation
Upgrades of Adaptive UX from March 2020 and earlier that have EAM enabled require the
merger of EAM part location IDs with Enterprise Edition part locations. EAM part locations are
converted and placed in the EE Parts Location table. EAM legacy location codes allowed up to
16 characters while EE location codes only allow up to eight. Any EAM part locations that are
longer than eight characters are not converted. The conversion routine outputs an error log of
locations that cannot be converted. The customer must review and reconcile these errors.
© QAD Inc 13 www.qad.com
Release Notes QAD Adaptive ERP with Adaptive UX 2022.1
If before the upgrade EAM has part locations greater than eight characters, please contact
QAD or partner services to help reconcile the incompatible location IDs.
Tablet Usage Guidelines
Please note the following guidelines for using the Web UI on a touchscreen tablet.
Tablet Interaction Guidelines
For tablet use, the user interface is only supported on iPad Pro (or newer equivalent) with
the Safari web browser. Although other tablets can be used, you may experience
differing levels of performance and user experience.
The QAD Web UI is optimized for landscape mode: most tablets in portrait mode are not
quite wide enough to fit all of our fields and full menu.
For data-entry tasks, an external keyboard is highly recommended.
If using the tablet’s virtual keyboard, consider using an alternative keyboard app
for improved functionality and view area usage.
If using the tablet’s virtual keyboard, use the tablet’s settings to make the
keyboard smaller so that it does not cover too much of the view area.
On some tablets, the virtual keyboard can obscure the view area, especially
when used in landscape mode.
On a tablet, QAD Web UI views do not offer a hybrid mode where you can
simultaneously access browse and form data.
Configuring views and stored views is best done on a larger desktop or laptop screen.
Double-click actions are not supported on tablets.
Hover events are not supported on tablets.
The browse grouping (Group By) feature is not yet available for tablet use.
The Design Layout mode for extending forms is not available on tablets. This feature
requires more screen area and so is only available for laptop or desktop use.
Note: Although the Surface Pro has a touchscreen, the Web UI works on the Surface Pro as it
does with regular laptop and desktop devices. These interaction guidelines do not apply to the
Surface Pro.
Note: Windows 10 can automatically scale displays by 150% for high-resolution screens. For best
results, change the automatic 150% scaling factor to be from 125% to 100%.
Tablet Performance Guidelines
On a tablet, for performance reasons, open no more than five levels deep of drill-down modal
dialogs. If you need to drill down more than five levels deep, open the next drill-down modal
dialog in a new browser tab.
For high-speed broadband connection performance, the following is recommended:
Minimum download speed 16 mbps
Maximum latency 150 ms

Mobile App
The Adaptive user experience (UX) includes not only the Web UI but also the QAD Adaptive ERP
mobile app. This app is available on Apple App Store and Google Play App Store. With the
mobile app, you can access your QAD Adaptive ERP with Adaptive UX environment from your
mobile device. For more information on how to configure and use the mobile app, see the
mobile app’s online help.
Online Help Location
QAD Adaptive ERP with Adaptive UX — September 2022:
https://documentlibrary.qad.com/help/webui/2022_1/en-US/index.html
A system administrator can change the base online help URL setting for the QAD Web UI using
Your Application Builder (YAB) commands.
For example, configure the online help to use the base URL for September 2022 as follows:
1. In the installation directory, locate the /build/config/configuration.properties file and edit
it (for example, using vi) to include the following settings:
qad-webshell.online-help-url=https://documentlibrary.qad.com/help/webui/2022_1
qad-webshell.help.defaultGroupContext=QAD qad-webshell.help.supportedLanguages=en-US
2. From the command line, reconfigure the environment by entering: yab reconfigure
3. Finally, restart the environment by entering: yab stop start
Guide Me
Guide Me is an on-screen assistance feature that shows you how to use the Web UI in a
step-by-step manner. Guide Me includes many scripts that help you get the most out of the
application.
No new scripts were added for this release. However, many existing scripts throughout the
system have been updated and improved.

Action Center Updates
Updated Action Center Features
The action center user experience is now based on Logi Composer v7. Logi Composer
offers enhanced performance and functionality. It includes new visual types that are not
available in Logi Platform Services and provides the ability to link action centers. If you
are a new Adaptive UX customer, you have access to the Logi Composer user
experience—and compatible out of the box QAD action centers, KPIs, and
visuals—automatically on installation. If you are an existing customer upgrading to 2022.1,
you can schedule when you want to upgrade to Logi Composer. QAD provides
conversion software to quickly convert existing Logi Platform Services visuals to
Composer. Note that, in the next release planned for March 2023, QAD will not support
Logi Platform Services visuals; QAD recommends that you upgrade to Logi Composer as
soon as possible. For more information, contact QAD Support.
Logi Composer action centers, KPIs, and visuals are always stored as Configuration Data.
In development environments, you can still associate an action center with an app so
that it is part of the package and load procedure for moving app data between
environments. The Origin App URI field in the new Action Centers view allows you to do
this.
If Logi Composer has not been enabled and Logi Platform Services is still being used, it
will not be possible to export action centers, visuals, and KPIs as part of an app. In this
case, they must be exported as Configuration Data.
The Action Centers view is a new screen that contains information about all of the action
centers in an environment. You can use this screen to open an action center, include or
exclude the action center from the Action Centers drop-down menu, and associate an
action center with an app.
With the new action center user experience, you can link an action center to another
action center.
New visual types available in Composer include maps and word clouds.
Calculated columns in Logi Platform Services have been replaced by derived fields in
Composer. Composer also offers custom metrics that support aggregated calculations
and comparisons over time.
Several updates have been made to assist you with building Financials action centers:
A new field called Reporting Group has been added to GL Accounts. Reporting
Group is used to categorize GL accounts into meaningful KPI data like Gross
Income, Opex, COGS, and so on. Customers can create Reporting Groups and
update GL Accounts with the appropriate Reporting Group value.
The Reporting Group field has been added to the Cube Trial Balance View
browse. This browse is now the data source for Financial KPIs. Logi uses the
Reporting Group field in KPI calculations in place of Analysis Codes. Analysis codes
can still be used if required.
© QAD Inc 16 www.qad.com
Release Notes QAD Adaptive ERP with Adaptive UX 2022.1
Previously many existing Financial action centers required customers to set up
Report Analysis Codes to collate data from different areas of the trial balance.
With the upgrade to the new version of Logi, new capabilities for formula
calculations within the visuals of action centers now allow faster KPI setup.

Deleted Action Centers
The following Financials action centers have been replaced by the action centers listed in New

Customer Management
Adaptive UX capabilities within the Customer Management area are listed below.
Sales
New Sales Orders Invoice Action
The new Sales Order Invoice action allows you to invoice any memo type sales order lines
without shipping them first. You can also invoice any inventory lines that are shipped.
Access the Sales Orders screen and select Actions > Individual > Invoice to perform the action.
There is no need first to pick/ship memo type sales order lines before being able to invoice them
since these items are not inventory items. The Invoice Action addresses the main business
requirement where users create memo type sales order lines and immediately need to invoice
them. Note: The exception is if self-billing information is needed for the memo type line. If so,
then you must ship the line first to generate the expected self-billing detail behind the scenes.
A secondary feature the Invoice action applies to is where users have shipped inventory sales
order lines but have not yet invoiced them.
Tip: When you select the Ship Allocated action on the Sales Orders screen to ship inventory sales
order lines, there is also a Workflow Option to Invoice now. If you do not invoice at that time,
you may subsequently use this Invoice action for invoicing those shipped lines.

Release Notes QAD Adaptive ERP with Adaptive UX 2022.1
Sales Orders and Sales Quotes Bulk Actions Available as Reports
Several Sales Orders and Sales Quotes bulk actions are now available as reports, allowing you to
schedule the actions or to submit them as background processes. The reports are:
Sales Order Reprice
Sales Order Revalue Cost
Sales Order Check Credit
Sales Order Allocation
Sales Order Confirmation
Sales Quote Release
Sales Quote Reprice
A typical use case for running a report in lieu of using an action is when processing will involve
many records and potentially require large amounts of time and system resources.
Pick Allocated and Ship Allocated Updates
The Pick Allocated and Ship Allocated Sales Orders actions now can be run across order lines
with different sites, making these actions much more useful and efficient. Before this release, you
could only run these actions for lines with sites matching the sales order header site.
Pre-shippers/Shippers result from the actions as follows:
When there is only one line to pick/ship, the application creates a single
pre-shipper/shipper using the line site.
When there are multiple lines to pick/ship and the line sites are the same, the application
creates a single pre-shipper/shipper using the line site.
When there are multiple lines to pick/ship from the sales order and the line sites are
different, the application creates a separate pre-shipper/shipper for each line site,
placing lines referencing the same site onto the same pre-shipper/shipper.
Consignment Returns in Ship Allocated and Pick Allocated Actions
You can now create a consignment return in a sales order consigned line item. When the
system detects any line records to ship/pick containing a consignment return line (Consignment
= Yes, Qty = negative), it defaults as a customer credit, and it also displays additional options
under the Workflow Options panel, to select it as either a Correction or a Return.
Updates to Sales Orders Confirm Bulk Action
The Sales Order Confirm bulk action allows you to confirm sales order lines in bulk, across many
orders at once. Before this release, the Sales Order Bulk Confirm action would only confirm sales
orders if there were no errors on any sales order or line. Now, the action evaluates confirming
sales orders and lines on a case-by-case basis, instead of an all-or-nothing bulk action.
Relating to the behavior of updating the confirmation status:
If any line on a sales order remains unconfirmed after running the action, then that
particular sales order (header) should remain in Unconfirmed status.
If an error is encountered for any sales order line and prevents the line confirmation, the
sales order (header) is to remain in Unconfirmed status.

Release Notes QAD Adaptive ERP with Adaptive UX 2022.1
Sales orders are to be evaluated separately and potentially set to status Confirmed based upon
all the individual order lines being saved in a confirmed status. This means that running this bulk
action across sales orders can result in some sales orders having the status updated to
Confirmed, while others may remain in an Unconfirmed status.
Cell Shading in Sales Order Detail Browse
Shading has been added to fields in the Sales Order Detail browse to bring attention to
potential records of concern.
If the Due Date is:
In the past, then the cell is shaded red
Equal to today's date, then it is shaded yellow
In the future, then it is left unshaded
Note: If the order is fully invoiced, then there is no cell shading regardless of value.
If there is an action status value, then the Action Status field appears with an orange
background color.
Consolidated Customer Scheduled Order Report
Starting with this Adaptive UX release, the Consolidated Scheduled Order Report has been
renamed as Consolidated Customer Scheduled Order Report. This updated label makes it clear
that this report applies to customer schedules and not supplier schedules.
The Consolidated Customer Scheduled Order Report allows you to search for information
related to customer scheduled orders based on general criteria such as a specific
ship-from/ship-to combination, item, or purchase order. The report results display existing
customer scheduled order lines matching the report criteria and, optionally, show the active
status Customer Scheduled Release detail for Plan, Ship, and RSS types of releases. The report
also can show shipment history related to the order lines.
Customer Scheduled Order Allocations
Before Adaptive UX, customers used the .NET UI Sales Order Manual Allocations functionality to
allocate to customer scheduled order lines. This Adaptive UX release introduces a new
Customer Scheduled Order Allocation report. Use the Customer Scheduled Order Allocation
report to allocate inventory to customer scheduled order lines. Run this report as Update: No to
view the potential allocations, or as Update: Yes to commit those allocations. The allocations
are based on the current demand found on the active RSS type of customer scheduled release.
Tip: Use the Inventory Availability browse to view the quantity as allocated after having
successfully committed the updates.
Retrobilling - Create Pending Invoice Action
The Create Pending Invoice action for Retrobills is now available in the Adaptive UX.
© QAD Inc 19 www.qad.com
Release Notes QAD Adaptive ERP with Adaptive UX 2022.1
From the Retrobills screen, choose Actions > Individual > Create Pending Invoice to create a
pending invoice for the retrobill selected.
Note: The retrobill must have an Open status to create a pending invoice.
A retrobill is a pricing correction to previously posted invoice lines related to customer
scheduled orders. For the retrobill update to take effect, create a pending invoice for the
retrobill and post the invoice.
In Adaptive UX, you now have the following options to use:
Create retrobills manually by using the Retrobills screen and the Create Pending Invoice
action on the record to create the pending invoice.
- or -
Use the Retrobill Auto Create report to create the retrobill and optionally create the
pending invoice.
Also new with this release: when you create a pending invoice, its Origin field is now set to equal
the Retrobil from which it was generated—making it easier for you to identify where a pending
invoice originates from.
Multi-Level Configured Items
Sales Orders
The grid in the Configured Item panel of the Sales Orders > Order Lines > Details screen now
supports multi-level configured items. Configured item information in Adaptive UX is now
grouped together more logically and is more accessible. The tailoring and entry of the order
information is more efficient and intuitive.
A new Auto-Allocate field in the Configured Item panel lets you control allocation for
configured items. The Auto-Allocate button is initially disabled until the order line is saved in a
Confirmed status. If you select the Auto-Allocate field, the application then performs the kit
component item allocation using the quantity values specified in the components grid.
Sales Quotes
The grid in the Configured Item panel of the Sales Quotes > Quote Lines > Details screen now
supports multi-level configured items. Configured item information in Adaptive UX is now
grouped together more logically and is more accessible. The tailoring and entry of the order
information is more efficient and intuitive.
Trailer Tax Detail Report
The Trailer Tax Detail report is now available in the Adaptive UX as a QRF report. Use the Trailer
Codes screen to maintain a trailer code and specify any optional trailer tax detail information.
Run the Trailer Tax Detail report to view how this data is currently defined.

Customer Consignment Processing
Customer consignment processing lets you plan, order, ship, track, and report
customer-consigned inventory using an automated system that reconciles inventories between
suppliers and customers. Invoicing and AR transactions are deferred until the inventory is used
by the customer.
Customer Consignment Inventory (Browse)
This browse view provides a close look at what has been put into In-Transit locations or customer
consignment. You can easily group by using the Ship-To view.
The following functions are available as part of Customer Consignment Inventory:
Transfer (Bulk Action)
Update Aging (Bulk Action)
Record Usage (Bulk Action)
Undo Usage (Individual Action)
Corrections, Returns, and Customer Credits
Transfer
Use Consignment Inventory Transfer to manually select consignment inventory to transfer from
one location to another.
Update Aging
Effectively monitor the aging of inventory if it was not used within the agreed time and returned
from your customers to you. The returned items may be obsolete, and you cannot use them any
more.
The maximum aging days enables you to monitor the inventory age, and reduces the loss
caused by obsolete inventory.
Record Usage
Record Usage provides various views—for example, Group by Item View or Group by Order +
Shipper View. It also supports batch processing of multiple customers with different multi-batch
IDs, and Auto Post Invoice is also supported to automatically post customer schedules invoices.
Undo Usage
Undo Record Usage individually reverses the performed transactions of the Record Usage
Action.
Logistics
Pre-Shippers/Shippers Enhancements
Customer Sequence Schedule in Pre-Shippers/Shippers
You can now ship a Customer Sequence Schedule in Pre-Shippers/Shipper. A sequence
schedule provides a detailed, short-term view of a customer's planned requirements. These
© QAD Inc 21 www.qad.com
Release Notes QAD Adaptive ERP with Adaptive UX 2022.1
requirements typically span no longer than a week, and are sent to you (the supplier) in the
order that your customer's manufacturing environment plans to consume them.
Customer Sequence Schedule with Serialization
Sequence Schedule Detail Panel Added in Picked Line Detail Form
In Adaptive UX, you can now use the Pre-Shippers/Shippers hybrid browse to pick and pack,
and to assign sequences to packs.
Peg Pack Sequences Action
You can now use the Peg Pack Sequences action, which is more efficient because you can
process all of your picked packs, and allow the system to help you associate the sequences to
your packs. Because sequences have an alphabetical order, the system is helping you decide
which pack should be linked to which sequence.
Shipping Correction Orders
You can now use Pre-Shippers and Shippers to ship Correction Orders. Previously, the correction
order shipment was only supported or done through the Ship Allocated action.
Corrections, Returns and Customer Credits
Use Customer Consignment Inventory to process returns, rejects, and corrections for customer
consignment orders and shipments.
Container Returns in Pre-Shippers and Shippers
You can now do a container return in Pre-Shippers and Shippers. To return a container, you
need to enter a negative quantity for a container so the system can process it as a return. This is
possible when 'Container Charges' are enabled in the related control settings.
Create an EMT Order in a Pre-Shipper or Shipper
Pre-Shippers and Shippers now are able to process Enterprise Material Transfer (EMT) orders with
the following features:
The system prevents secondary business unit (SBU) shipment when a primary business unit
(PBU) needs a PO Acknowledgement flow.
When there are changes to the SBU Pre-Shipper or Shipper—for example, quantity
picked—the system triggers an ORDRSP-S type EDI document to the PBU.
EMT lets you automatically generate purchase orders from sales orders. Using EDI eCommerce,
you can communicate these purchase orders and related EMT documents throughout the
supply chain.
Support for Return Material Authorizations Receipts and Shipments
Pre-Shippers and Shippers now support the shipment of return material authorization (RMA)
return and replacement lines.
You can now enter the RMA number and line number on the shipper line. Use a negative line
quantity to record that a customer has returned items to you for credit, repair, or replacement.
© QAD Inc 22 www.qad.com
Release Notes QAD Adaptive ERP with Adaptive UX 2022.1
These items are put into inventory at the specified site and location. A customer credit is
recorded. RMA receipts can be processed only against open RMAs. Multiple receipts can be
processed against each return line item in one RMA.
Use a positive line quantity to ship the items on the RMA replacement lines. The Ship Before
Return setting of the service type providing coverage for the RMA determines whether you can
ship replacement items before the returned items are received.
The Confirm and Unconfirm actions on Pre-Shippers and Shippers have been enhanced to
support RMA receipts and shipments.
All the Serialization features on Pre-Shippers and Shippers now support RMAs, including the Pick
& Pack, Return Pack, and Move Pack actions. Enter the RMA line number to associate it with the
serial packs or items.
Kit Serialization
In Pre-Shippers and Shippers, for any kit component items picked, the kits are now displayed in
the Picked Lines grid. You can view the kit item (parent item) line detail information using the
Details hyperlink in the Picked Line grid. The Unpick button above the Picked Line grid is
available for kit component item lines but deactivated for kit parent item lines.
The minimum is used rather than the maximum, and the Quantity field of the kit parent item is
available for editing.
When you confirm or unconfirm a pre-shipper or shipper for which kit component items are
picked, the kit parent items are displayed in the Lines grid in the screens that open for the
Confirm and Unconfirm actions.
The Return Pack action in Pre-Shippers and Shippers enables you to return a previously
consumed pack or serialized item, and now supports the return of kit component items.
Support for Memo Items in Serialization in Pre-Shippers and Shippers
When shipping serialized packs using the Pick & Pack action, it is now possible to also process
any loose memo items on the sales order. These are order lines that have a non-blank ship
type—typically, non-inventory items such as services or miscellaneous credits, or memo
inventory items like manuals or installation instructions. Previously, this was not supported in
serialization scenarios.
Container Setup
Container & Line Charge Ship-To Controls
A new Container & Line Charge Ship-To Controls hybrid browse allows you to activate and set
up container and line charges for shipments. These charges are applied at the line-item level.
You can apply a container charge to each line item and associate multiple line charges with a
single line. Container charge amounts are determined by container item and ship-to.
You can choose to implement container charges, line charges, or both.
© QAD Inc 23 www.qad.com
Release Notes QAD Adaptive ERP with Adaptive UX 2022.1
Container Items
You can now use Container Items to associate additional information with inventory items so
that they can be used, tracked, and invoiced by all of the container-related functions in the
system.
Container Charges
You can now use Container Charges to create records defining the amount charged for
specific container items or specific container items used at specific ship-to addresses. You can
set up these records in different currencies and with different charge amounts based on one or
multiple date ranges. Typically, the charge amount is per container. Each record is defined by a
combination of ship-to, container, and currency:
Define records with a blank ship-to address to indicate that the charge amount applies
to the specified container regardless of where it is shipped.
Define records with a ship-to address to indicate that the charge amount applies to the
container only when used for shipments to that address
Logistics Accounting Accrual/Expense Account Setup
Outbound Expense Accounts
You can now use Outbound Expense Accounts to assign general ledger (GL) accounts
according to various combinations of logistics charge, product line, site, and optional customer
type and order channel. Outbound Expense Accounts lets you separately track logistics
charges for product lines at multiple sites within the same entity. For example, you may want to
track freight charges from different suppliers for different sites using separate accounts. After
entering each product line, site, and optional customer type and channel code combination,
define Expense and Variance accounts for shipments.
Outbound Accrual Accounts
You can now use Outbound Accrual Accounts to assign general ledger (GL) accounts
according to various combinations of logistics charge, product line, site, and optional supplier
type. The Outbound Accrual Accounts browse lets you separately track logistics charges for
product lines at multiple sites within the same entity. For example, you may want to track freight
charges from different suppliers for different sites using separate accounts. After entering each
product line and optional site and supplier type code combination, define Accrual accounts
for shipments.
Shipper Validation Rules
You can now use Shipper Validation Rules to create and edit shipper validation rules.
The Shipper Validation Rules can be applied not only when you use Pre-Shipper/Shipper Print,
but also on many other places, such as Pre-Shippers, Shippers, and individual actions, such as
Confirm, Unconfirm, Ship Allocated, and Pick Allocated.
© QAD Inc 24 www.qad.com
Release Notes QAD Adaptive ERP with Adaptive UX 2022.1
Shipper Validation Rule Detail
The system now has a detail-level hybrid browse where you can create or edit the details of a
shipper validation rule.
Shipper Validation Rule Links
You can now use the Shipper Validation Rule browse to link an existing rule to the profiles
defined in the system. A profile is divided in two parts: the ship-from (source country) and the
ship-to (destination country).
Shipper Validation Corrections on Sales Orders Action: Ship Allocated
Now during a submission of the Sales Orders > Ship Allocated action, the system performs a
shipper validation to validate against rules. If any warnings or errors are found, the system
prompts you to correct any issues before the order is fully processed.
Field Service Management
RMA Enhancements
Receive Order Action
You can now use the Receive Order action in RMAs to process the receipt of customer returned
items for an RMA to ensure that they are restocked correctly. This action creates a confirmed
shipper. Additionally, this action now has the shipper print, and invoice post & print capabilities.
Multiple lot/serial numbers can be recorded in this action for the receipts. When the Multi Entry
functionality is used, the system performs the following:
All the multi-entry lines are saved into the same shipper. The RMA line site determines the
value of the shipper header Ship-From.
Each combination of site, location, lot, and reference in the Multi Entry creates a
different shipper line, which is the same behavior as the Multi Entry functionality in
Pre-Shippers/Shippers.
Additional ISS-TR and RCT-TR inventory transactions are generated for any site value
entered in Multi Entry that is different from the RMA line site.
Ship Allocated Action
You can now use the Ship Allocated action in RMAs whenever a customer is returning a line,
and is requesting a replacement line at the same time. The RMA Ship Allocated action is really
helpful in the situation where a replacement line is linked to the returning line, and a sample, or
an item that is not in Inventory, is part of the replacement lines to be shipped to the customer.
The Ship Before Return setting of the service type providing coverage for the RMA determines
whether you can ship replacement items before the returned items are received.
You can also use the Ship Allocated action in RMAs to ship the spare parts ordered without the
need of a return. Additionally, this action now has the shipper print, and invoice post & print
capabilities.

Trade Activity Management
Indirect Sales
The Action field has been added to the Excel import file to improve indirect sales line bulk
action performance. You can now process many lines by changing the actions from the
Excel file and importing it.
You can now edit indirect sales lines from the Indirect Sales Lines browse.
TAM Earned Discount Calculation
When running TAM Earned Discount Calculation, the QRF report notifies the user if Earned
Discount Calc is locked.
Financials
Financials new features include the following:
Financial Action Center KPIs
Financial action centers have been enhanced in the September 2022 release to avail of the
new Logi Composer 7 capabilities.
Previously, many existing Financial action centers required customers to set up Report Analysis
Codes to collate data from different areas of the trial balance. With the upgrade to the new
version of Logi, new capabilities for formula calculations within the visuals of action centers now
allow faster KPI setup.
A new field called Reporting Group has been added to GL Accounts. Reporting Group is used
to categorize GL accounts into meaningful KPI data like Gross Income, Opex, COGS, and so on.
Customers can create Reporting Groups and update GL Accounts with the appropriate
Reporting Group value.
The Reporting Group field has been added to the Cube Trial Balance View browse. This browse
is now the data source for Financial KPIs. Logi uses the Reporting Group field in KPI calculations
in place of Analysis Codes. Analysis codes can still be used if required.
Previous action centers have been streamlined and two new action centers with visuals have
been created, Revenue & Margin Analysis and Treasury Analysis.
Self Billing - Accrual Exchange Rates
Self-Bill Invoice Post picks the base currency and statutory currency exchange rates based on
shipment date or invoice date (when no shipment record exists) to clear the accrual accounts.
Previously, rates were picked from the invoice effective date.
Fixed Asset Enhancements
Assets using depreciation deviation allow a negative posting to the secondary posting book
when the primary book useful life is either not yet started or already finished.

Release Notes QAD Adaptive ERP with Adaptive UX 2022.1
Reporting Groups
Use Reporting Groups to group GL accounts. A reporting group can be assigned to a GL
account. This information is then displayed on the Cube Trial Balance View browse. This browse
is used to generate visuals in the action center.
Daybook Summarization
In Inventory Control, the Summarized Journal field determines how transactions are created.
However, from this release you can specify operational transaction summarization settings for
individual Daybooks of type Journal Entries in Daybooks on the Domain Settings panel.
Record Numbers
From this release, record number maintenance is possible using the Web UI. System
administrators can use Record Numbers to set a starting number for a specific business
component—for example, numbers for printed checks
Financials Control
The following actions are now available in Financials Control:
Rebuild Account Balances
Rebuild Customer Balances
Rebuild Supplier Balances
Operational Accounting Structure Validation
The Operational Account Structure Validation report generates a report of all of the places in
the system where default GL accounts, sub-accounts, cost centers can be specified and are
used to generate GL transactions in the operational modules. The report indicates any invalid
combinations. It is important to run this report prior to go-live and then periodically to ensure
that the combinations are still valid.
You can find the report using the menu, or you can find it in the drill-down links on the
Operational Account Tables & Fields browse.
Developers can use Operational Account Tables & Fields to maintain the names of the tables
and the names of the account, sub-account, cost center, and project fields of operational side
tables that need to be validated.
Daemons and Events
Daemons now has an initial hybrid browse displaying all daemon types. From here, you can
select a daemon and edit its properties. You can also select bulk actions from the browse menu
to apply to all daemons, including Start All and Stop All.
There is a single role permission for all daemons to manage Stop, Start, Clear Queue, and Set
Debug Level.
There are two new browses for Event Configurations and Event Destinations where you can add
or modify configuration or destination details.

Financials Action Centers
For more information on updates made to Financials action centers, click here.
Chronological Invoice Numbering
In prior releases, Chronological Invoice Numbering was a standard field in the Invoice
Numbering panel of Domains, and the field was effective for both supplier and customer
invoices. Now, the Domains screen includes separate Chronological Invoice Numbering options
for AR and AP.
These fields allow you to activate or deactivate chronological invoice numbering for supplier
invoices and customer invoices separately. The new settings are located in a new Domains
panel called Invoicing. When you select Consecutive Invoice Numbering in the Invoice
Numbering panel, the Chronological Invoice Numbering fields in the Invoicing panel become
editable.
When you select either of the Chronological Invoice Numbering fields, a drop-down field to the
right is enabled and lets you choose whether to display an error or a warning when an invoice is
created with a posting date earlier than an existing supplier or customer invoice for the same
daybook.
Split AP Payments
In some countries, there is a legal requirement to pay the tax amount to a regulated bank
account. This is an account under the control of both the supplier and the tax authorities. You
can now:
Mark a supplier as subject to split payments.
Indicate that a bank account is regulated.
When the invoice is created, automatically split the payment into the base amount and
the tax amount. The amount must be paid from an own regulated bank account to the
regulated bank account of the supplier.
Multiple Control Accounts
Use the Control Account fields in Customers and Suppliers to update the default account in the
Control GL Profile for invoices or credit notes. The Main panels for Customer Invoices and
Supplier Invoices both display the updated account in a new Control Account field.
If the Control Account field is blank, the default account is used to generate the posting. You
can only specify customer or supplier control account types in the Control Account field.
Postings for the invoice use the control account specified here, instead of the control account
determined from the profile stored on the customer or supplier record.
The Control Account feature is supported for all types of invoices except:
Finance Charge
Prepayment
Adjustment types of invoices
© QAD Inc 28 www.qad.com
Release Notes QAD Adaptive ERP with Adaptive UX 2022.1
Shipper Unconfirm Adjustment
In some countries, canceled invoices must match the original invoices. To support this
requirement, the new Invoicing panel in Domains contains two new fields, Shipper Unconfirm
Adjustment and Shipper Unconfirm Adjustment Daybook. When Shipper Unconfirm Adjustment is
selected for the domain and the relevant daybook is specified, Shipper Unconfirm
automatically adjusts credit notes against the original invoices.
Manufacturing
Manufacturing includes new features in several areas.
Engineering
Engineering now includes:
Visible In QAD PE Field
The Visible In QAD PE field is added to Routing Operations and Production Order Routings.
The system downloads all operations whose Visible In QAD PE field is selected from EE to QAD
Production Execution.
Note that the Visible In QAD PE field is hidden in the factory view by default. In addition, this
field is editable only when the Milestone Operation checkbox is not selected. If Milestone
Operation is selected, Visible In QAD PE is automatically selected and is read-only.
Co/By-Products Supported in Product Structures & Formulas
Co/by-products are now supported in Product Structures & Formulas. Co-product/by-product
structures are entered as relationships between a base process (BOM/formula code) and each
of its co-products and by-products.
A base process is a common process that creates more than one product. A resulting product
can be a co-product or a by-product:
Co-product: A product that is the intended result of a process and usually has significant
sales value
By-product: A product that is an incidental result of a process and usually has little sales
value
By selecting the Base Process checkbox in the Main panel of Product Structures & Formulas, you
can create a product structure or formula for co/by-products, or add co/by-products to an
existing structure or formula. Once you select Base Process, the system displays the Quantity
Complete Method field in the Main panel. In addition, the system displays the Co/By-Products
panel below. You can then add or maintain co/by-products in the Co/By-Products grid. You
can also click Details to launch the Co/By-Product hybrid view for further maintenance.

Production
Production now includes:
Item Attributes Integrated with Component Issue and Manual Allocation
The Attribute Status field is added to the Issue Components details page as well as the Allocate
window, showing whether the entered inventory is conforming to attributes. The value of
Attribute Status can be Conforming or Non-confirming.
In the component issue grid of Report Component Issue, Report Rework, Report Operation
Activity, and Receive Order, when the component is associated with attributes and there is any
non-conforming attribute, a yellow triangle displays in the Status field even though the Quantity
Issue value matches the Quantity Required value. A tooltip stating "Inventory attributes values
not conforming with order" also pops up when you hover the mouse pointer over the icon. In this
case, you can select the component record and click Details to launch the Issue Components
details page for maintaining the item attribute status. On the Issue Components details page, if
the Attribute Status of the component or substitute item is Non-conforming, the system highlights
the Component/Substitute Item cell in yellow, as well as its Attribute Status cell.
To open the Allocate window, select a component record in the Bill of Materials panel of
Production Orders and click Allocate. You can then check the Attribute Status value in the
Detail Allocation grid to see whether the entered inventory is conforming to the attributes. If the
inventory being allocated is non-conforming, a confirmation message pops up, saying
"Inventory attribute values not conforming with order."
Item Attributes Supported in Receipt Transactions
In the Report Operation Activity, Report Operation Move, and Receive Order windows, you can
receive multiple lot/serials for an item using the receipt panel. When the item has associated
item attributes, you can select a record in the receipt grid and click Attributes to launch the
Attributes details page for managing item attributes.
On the Attributes details page, the grid in the Main panel shows the inventory line and the
attribute lines, displaying a list of attributes associated with the item lot.
The inventory line displays the inventory details associated with the item lot, including the
site and location where the item and lot exist, the inventory status of the location, the
quantity that is stored in the location, and so on.
The attribute lines display the attributes associated with a lot or sublot, including the
attribute ID, attribute name, the attribute level, and so on. Each row identifies an
attribute and displays the attribute details. The information in the row highlights how the
attribute value changes with the transaction, what the conforming/non-conforming
result is, if the value was validated, and what the specification is.
After you perform a receipt transaction with item attributes or test specifications, you can open
the Quality Orders drill-down link to view the quality order generated; or use Item Lots to view
and monitor changes to lot attribute values.

Release Notes QAD Adaptive ERP with Adaptive UX 2022.1
Regulatory Attributes Supported in Receipt Transactions
When you use the Report Operation Activity, Report Operation Move, or Receive Order action,
the Receive or Inventory to Receive panel now allows you to enter regulatory attributes for
items that have multiple lot/serials:
When you enter an existing lot, the grid displays its regulatory attribute values and they
are read-only.
When you enter a new lot, the grid allows you to modify the regulatory attributes as
needed.
The regulatory attributes that can be reviewed or modified include Expire Date, Inventory
Status, Grade, and Assay %. When items are received into inventory, they are assigned Assay %,
Grade, Expire Date, and Inventory Status. You can review and modify the regulatory attributes
for items held in inventory in the receipt grid.
Additionally, after entering regulatory attributes in the heading frame, you can select the Use as
Default checkbox to set the preceding regulatory attribute values as the defaults for all receipts
on this order.
Component Issue with Serialization Supported in More Actions
The Component Issue with Serialization feature, which was introduced to the Report Operation
Activity action in the previous release, is now supported in more actions:
Receive Order
Report Component Issue
When Serialization is enabled, to issue components by pack, you can use the Report Operation
Activity, Receive Order, or Report Component Issue action and select the Issue by Pack field.
You can then issue inventory for serialized items and packs, which helps you easily manage your
serialized inventory.
With this function, you can:
Issue assembly packs, either a full pack or some of its lower-level packs.
Issue unit packs, either full packs or part of their inventory.
Issue serialized items that are not in pack.
Issue non-serialized items that are not in packs.
After adding the serial IDs to be issued to the grid, you can click Calculate Operation. The
system automatically calculates an operation where the components are in use according to
the component requirements, and displays the operation in the grid.
Receipt with Serialization Supported in Receive Order Action
The Receipt with Serialization feature, which was introduced to the Report Operation Activity
action in the previous release, is now supported in the Receive Order action as well.
When Serialization is enabled, to receive finished goods by pack, you can use the Report
Operation Activity or Receive Order action and select the Receive by Pack field. The system

Release Notes QAD Adaptive ERP with Adaptive UX 2022.1
displays different Serialization fields, depending on the settings of the Auto Generate Packs and
Receive Assembly Pack fields. You can then receive serialized and non-serialized inventory into
unit and assembly packs.
Supported scenarios include but are not limited to the following:
Build and receive multiple unit packs at once and specify the quantity in any partially
filled packs by selecting the Auto Generate Packs field.
Create and receive a multi-level assembly pack based on a BOP code. You can build
the assembly pack with either serialized or non-serialized items.
Build a mixed assembly pack that contains different lot numbers. For example, you can
receive unit packs and loose items.
Receive multiple assembly packs by selecting both the Receive Assembly Pack and Auto
Generate Packs fields.
Logistics
Added the following actions to the Production Picklists browse:
Pick. This action allows users to select a picklist and sequence from the Production
Picklists browse and pick components needed from inventory. When these components
are picked, the system updates the Qty Picked on the picklist sequence. Any serials that
are selected are updated to picked Stage. Users can select either Order or Bulk type
picklists. If the Picklist Type is Order, then this picklist is for a specific order. If the Picklist
Type is Bulk, then the picklist is for multiple orders.
Unpick. This action allows users to select a picklist and sequence from the Production
Picklists browse and unpick components already picked. When these components are
unpicked, the system changes the status of the packs from Picked to Active and the
inventory quantities are updated. The Open Quantity is increased by the Unpick
Quantity.
Transfer. This action allows users to transfer components that were picked (with a Pick
Policy = Transfer) on a picklist/sequence and move them from the stocking location to
the shop floor. For loose items, users can specify the quantity picked for a component
that should be transferred. For serialized items or packs, users can only transfer the entire
serialized pack or individual serialized item.
Planning
New View Resources Load Action
A new View Resources Load action is available from the Resources hybrid browse. Use the new
action to view the item resource load summary and details. The item resource load summary
shows the available resource capacity and required resource capacity to meet scheduled
production in daily, weekly, or monthly buckets. You determine start/end dates and the horizon
duration for data that displays. These options let you control and view only specific load data.
The action form includes two panels:
© QAD Inc 32 www.qad.com
Release Notes QAD Adaptive ERP with Adaptive UX 2022.1
Main panel: Contains key information that identifies a site and a resource number and
lets you set up a start/end dates, the UM, and the horizon duration.
Resource Load Summary panel: Contains a grid of item resource load summary data
that helps you determine the required resource capacity to meet production in daily,
weekly, or monthly buckets, or GL calendar periods. Over-/under-capacity information
displays in the grid. When you change the filter criteria—for example, from days to
months—the grid refreshes data automatically.
Inventory
Production Order Component Profiles. This allows a quality manager to be able to create and
edit production order component profiles, and to add profile attributes, to capture attributes
applicable to a specific production order component.
Production Order Profiles. This allows a quality manager to be able to create and edit
production order profiles, and to add profile attributes, to capture attributes applicable to a
specific production order/sales order combination.
This screen works for both discrete and cumulative production orders. (In .NET UI, there were
separate functions for the different types of orders.)
BOM Component Profiles. This allows a quality manager to be able to create and edit BOM
component profiles, and to add profile attributes, to capture attributes applicable to a specific
BOM component.
In addition to the new enhancements, many new BC component conversion profiles have
been added, including:
Inventory Detail
Item Attribute Profiles
Item Supplier Profiles
Item Customer Profile
Inventory Transaction E-Sig History browse
The Inventory Transaction E-Sig History browse has been added in September 2022. This browse
allows you to view all eSignature history records pertaining to a specific inventory transaction for
inventory transfers or inventory updates, so that you can easily view what changes were made.
For example, if a transfer was performed that triggered an eSignature event, you can see
where the inventory was (From values) and where the inventory was moved to (To values).
Serialization
Match Levels
Match levels functionality has been introduced in September 2022.
Use Match Levels to define a match level by supplier, ship-to, or their combination when
receiving goods. You can set a default match level for shippers that come from a specific
supplier and ship to a specific site. The match level value determines the receiving level when
unloading goods; for example, it dictates whether you only scan the master pack or scan each

Release Notes QAD Adaptive ERP with Adaptive UX 2022.1
pack's serial during receipt. The system displays the default match level value when you match
the actual unloading data with the ASN received.
Serials
New and enhanced Serials actions have been provided with Serialization, allowing you to ship
and manage your packaging more effectively.
The new actions and enhancements include:
Pack Merge. This new action allows you to combine the contents of two packs into one pack.
After merging the packs, the stage of the From Pack becomes Decommissioned because all its
contents have been merged into the To Pack.
Repackage Pack. This new action allows you to repackage contents on existing active
homogenous unit packs with non-serialized items into another pack.
Decommission Pack. Additional enhancements have been made to this action so that it now
supports Mixed Packs and Serialized Item Units.
Quality
Dynamic Formatting When Entering Attribute Values
Beginning with the September 2022 release, when quality managers enter attribute values, the
field formats will dynamically update based on the attribute format defined in the Item Attribute
Definition screen.
For example, an attribute can now be set up with a decimal data type defined as five places.
When entering attribute values in Item Attribute Profile Specifications, Quality Orders, Production
Orders, or during a Receive Unplanned Action, you can enter the specified value down to the
fifth decimal point. If you enter a value that is only three decimal places, the system
dynamically adds the extra zeros at the end to match the required value.
Supply Chain
Purchasing
Purchasing new features include the following:
Supplier Scheduled Orders/Releases
Supplier Portal Label Changes
The Supplier Portal label has been changed to Web Portal in Supplier Scheduled Orders and
Supplier Scheduled Releases screens to indicate the communication channel or
communication statuses when scheduled releases are sent to the supplier through any portal.

Purchase Requisitions
Requisition Copy Action
A new action available in the Requisitions and My Requisitions hybrid browses lets you copy GRS
(direct/indirect) or EAM indirect requisitions. This enhancement was designed for Adaptive UX
customers who use GRS requisitions, and it was not available in the .NET UI. Additionally, options
can be leveraged to copy notes or attachments to the copied requisition. The Copy action
provides the flexibility to edit some important information for requisitions to be copied before
final submission.
Bulk Route Action
A new action available in Requisitions and My Requisitions hybrid browses lets you route GRS
(direct/indirect) or EAM indirect requisitions. This enhancement was designed for Adaptive UX
customers who use GRS requisitions, and it was not available in the .NET UI. The bulk route action
is beneficial when several requisitions are migrated during an upgrade and require routing at
one time. Additionally, for GRS requisitions, you can modify the Route To before final submission
depending on Purchase Requisition Control setup.
Requisition Lines General Enhancements
Enhancements were made in requisition lines. You can now edit the location for the item being
requested; this lets requesters specify where the inventory will be received beforehand.
You can also view information related to the quantity received and returned after the
requisition has been converted to a purchase order in the requisition lines. This enhancement
lets requesters see how much has been received and returned against the requested quantity.
Requisition line controls were enhanced to avoid excess supply when the items are already
requested via different purchasing processes, such as Indirect Supplier Price Agreements for
indirect items or blanket orders for direct items.
Purchase Orders
PO Lines General Enhancements
Enhancements were made to purchase order lines to make the requisition line editable. Users
are no longer required to use the lookup on the Requisition option when selecting the requisition
line, making the edit faster and more user friendly.
In addition, the Original Due Date option now stores the Due Date value when you change the
due date for the first time. You can use this key information to analyze any discrepancies in the
due dates once the PO is created without any requisitions or was released from a requisition or
blanket order.

Purchase Order Receipts
Multi-Site Purchasing for Receipts
This multi-site purchasing receipt enhancement is implemented in all purchasing document
receipts and addresses a previous gap in the direct purchasing flow. Users can now see
intercompany postings when a receiving site has an entity that is different from the purchase
order AP site entity.
Purchase Order Returns
Multi-Site Purchasing for Returns
Like the multi-site purchasing receipt enhancement, this enhancement for all purchasing
document returns addresses a previous gap in the direct purchasing flow and lets users see
intercompany postings when a receiving site has an entity different from the purchase order AP
site entity.
General
Notes Enhancements
The Notes panel now shows additional information, such as the master reference, language,
and type in all purchasing documents (requisitions , purchase orders, blanket orders, supplier
scheduled orders, and PO shippers).
Receive Type Memo Segregation
For memo lines in all purchasing documents, a new Memo Order Type option has been added
in the lines to allow buyers, requesters, and purchase material planners to further define the kind
of memo item that is referenced. For example, for an expense memo item, the Receive Type
selected should be Memo, and you can now enter the Memo Order Type value as E(xpense).
To provide control, you can maintain the Memo Order Type value in Generalized Codes.
Supplier Items
The system now searches supplier item records when the Supplier option is blank. The search is
applicable to all suppliers in all purchasing documents and improves EMT flows.
Indirect EAM Requisition and Purchasing Support of Department Flows
Requisitions and POs now provide visibility to the department along with accounting Information
for EAM indirect flows. Previously, department-related information was missing from requisitions.

With this release, users can now specify different consignment settings for the supplier and direct
items in the Adaptive UX.
Inbound Shippers
Average Costing for Kit Items Supported in PO Shipper Confirm Transaction
Average costing is now fully supported, generates correct GL, and calculates cost for the KIt
parent item during EMT PO shipper confirmation. This enhancement addresses previous
limitations in the EMT kit flow.
PO Shipper Lines Supported with New Tree-List Grid
The PO Shipper Lines grid has been refactored to display a tree-list view, enhancing visibility for
container lines with contents or kit parent lines with components that you can now view as
multi-level structures. You can use the new Add Child button in the grid to add components on
the fly for the kit parent in PO shipper lines.
Limited Support for Containers in PO Shippers
Users can now view and modify a container and its contents in PO shipper lines and add loose
lines to the PO shipper that has containers. There are some restrictions in the PO shipper lines
when creating/deleting containers or when adding new content to the existing container line.
Shipper Lines with Containers Supported in PO Shipper Confirm Transaction
Users can now successfully confirm PO shipper lines with containers and are no longer required
to perform this action in the .NET UI when containers exist and there are no modifications
required in the PO shippers.
Kit Shipper Lines Supported in PO Shippers
EMT kit PO shipper line creation, deletion, and modification are now supported in PO shippers.
You can use the new Add Child button in the Shipper Lines grid to add components on the fly
for the kit parent in PO shipper lines. You can edit EMT kit PO shippers received via EDI or the
web portal and successfully confirm to generate EMT PO receipt transactions.
Inbound Serialization
Purchase Order Unload Supports Item Serials Generation

Release Notes QAD Adaptive ERP with Adaptive UX 2022.1
generate item serials on the fly during submission or use the item serials pop-up to add serials
manually. An Item Serials column has been added to the Contents grid in the Unload action
screen to indicate when users are not auto-generating item serials. When no item serials have
been in the pop-up, the Item Serials column is highlighted in orange.
The following use cases are supported for the Unload action on purchasing documents:
Loose inventory without any packaging structure
Loose serialized inventory without any packaging structure
Single-item, single-lot unit pack structure with serialized and non-serialized content
Existing packs in the New, Decommissioned, or Pending stage and item serials,
generated using the Create Pack action (from the Purchase Orders, Supplier Scheduled
Orders, or PO Shippers hybrid browses) during the unload to package and receive
inventory.
Manual entry of new serials, rather than auto-generated serials, for the unit pack
structure or serialized item. This supports any labels received from the supplier.
New Inbound Shipper Loose Lines Grid for Serialization
A new Inbound Shipper Lines grid has been added to PO Shippers for this release to support
loose items. (Adding, modifying, or deleting loose lines is the same as described in the PO
Shipper Lines grid online help.) You can confirm inbound shipper loose lines in the grid via the
Confirm action for PO shippers.
The PO Shipper Lines hybrid browse displays PO shippers created with data either in PO shipper
lines or in the Inbound Shipper Lines grid; however, note that you can only view the inbound
shipper lines. To modify or delete inbound shipper lines, use PO Shippers.
Serialization Actions Supported in More Purchasing Functions
Create Pack by PO/Supplier Scheduled Orders/PO Shippers
In the Web UI, a new Create Pack action has been added, enhancing visibility and
usability as compared to .NET UI functionality. The new action is accessible from
Purchase Orders, Supplier Scheduled Orders, and PO Shippers,. Use the new action to
generate packs using a pack code or a pack structure that is based on an optional
packing slip or a PO shipper. While generating packs, you can now see the packaging
structure when you select the new Pack Structure option. You can adjust the number of
packs for any pack code or serialized content in the packaging structure.
Also in the Create Pack action, a new Serial Control field has been added to improve
visibility when packs are generated for serialized content, letting you immediately view
and verify the number of packs.
Unload by PO Shipper
The Unload action is available from the PO Shippers screen. Use the action to unload
different contents and auto-generate multiple single-item, single-lot packs. You can
submit all content and serial information that has been shipped by the supplier as
unloaded unconfirmed inventory.
When there are mismatches between what was promised on the supplier ASN and what
was actually unloaded, a warning displays along with a Discrepancies Found matching

Release Notes QAD Adaptive ERP with Adaptive UX 2022.1
status. You can then review the Purchase Order Discrepancies report for details. This is an
improvement over .NET UI functionality, where users had no warning about
discrepancies and always had to run the report.
You can optionally choose to confirm the shipper or not using the Unload action or the
Confirm action for PO shippers once discrepancies are analyzed. Additionally, you can
navigate to different serialization reports or browses in this screen via drill downs.
You can use packs generated from the Create Pack action for PO shippers in this action
for labeling the content or pack.
Return by Pack option in Return Order Action
You can now use the Return Order action to return loose inventory, or you can use the
Return by Pack option to return serialized inventory. The Return Order action is available
in both Purchase Orders and Supplier Scheduled Orders.
With the Return by Pack option, you can return single-item, single-lot, mixed serialized
assembly packs or unit packs that contain serialized or non-serialized content. You can
also return loose serialized content or loose non-serialized items. You simply scan or enter
the serials, and the system populates all content information to the Return by Pack grid
for return.
Confirmation of Serialized Unloaded Inventory PO Shipper Confirm Transaction
You can also confirm unloaded inventory using the Confirm action. The system now displays a
warning message in the Confirm action screen to run the Purchase Order Discrepancies
drill-down report from the Confirm action screen when unloaded inventory exists for the PO
shipper. You can verify the information between ASN and the unloaded inventory and then
submit to confirm the PO shipper.

use to specify the condition of the equipment as repairs begin. The As Found code is recorded
on asset work orders for reporting purposes.
Asset Work Order Copy Action
A new copy function lets you copy an existing asset work order to a new work order in a single
step. The system displays the copied work order in the browse with an order number that is next
in the numbering sequence. Once the order is copied, the system also copies information
related to Equipment, Work Instruction Lists, and Stores Requisition Lists.
Asset Work Order Status
The new Asset Work Order Status hybrid browse lets you create user-defined codes that
describe the status of an EAM work order. You can create asset WO status codes that contain
specific functionality. For example, you can:
Indicate the default status when creating a service request, CM, or PM work order.
Specify that the C or F status for a PM work order triggers the update of the associated
sliding PM template.
Allow EAM to automatically send an email to the WO notify person any time a work
order changes to that status.
Note: You cannot delete system-defined status codes, such as O(pen), F(inished), C(closed),
and X(Canceled).
Instruction List Types
A new Instruction List Types hybrid browse lets you create instruction list types to use with
instruction lists (MILs) for better sorting and filtering. For example, you can create list type codes
for common instructions for PMs, repairs, and rebuild type classifications. You can apply those
codes to MILs and then group and sort the MILs by those list type codes.
Clearances
Use the new Clearances hybrid browse to create and maintain user-defined clearance codes
used in preventive maintenance and work orders. For example, you can create clearance
codes that provide an additional level of safety by stipulating that users can run machinery
while performing a type of work or, conversely, that machine should be shut down while
performing work.

authorized by specified users who are part of an approval group. Once a member of the group
approves the stores requisition, the requisition can be processed.
Physical Inventory Copy
Use the new Copy action from the Physical Inventory hybrid browse to copy an existing physical
inventory record. The system copies the record's header and lines. The system automatically
assigns a new physical inventory number to the copied record and sets the status to
S(cheduled). This function supports repeatable, consistent inventory counts.
Inventory Descriptors
A new Part Descriptors drill-down link, accessible from the Indirect Inventory hybrid browse,
displays lists of descriptors that act as a template for certain technical information. Descriptor
codes further describe a piece of equipment or an inventory part. You can also print part
descriptors (see the description of the Print Descriptors action).
Part Types
A new Part Types hybrid browse lets you define part type codes that are used in the stock
replenishment routine. Part types indicate a part’s functional application and are used for
filtering and reporting.
Pay Additives
Use the new Pay Additives hybrid browse to create and maintain user-defined codes that are
used to add a specific amount to the standard hourly rate when posting labor. For example, if
an employee has an hourly rate of $10/hour, and is associated with a pay additive code for 50
more cents, then the hourly rate becomes $10.50. Sometimes, companies use the pay additive
code for weekend shifts or third shifts as an incentive for employees to work in the off-times.

indirect item (part) or to all parts. This function lets you define relationships between units of
measure for ordering and issuing indirect parts. At the time of purchase and receipt, the system
will utilize these conversions.
Indirect UM conversions can be generic (eaches to dozens) or may be part specific (eaches to
cases).
Note: Indirect UMs and UM conversions must be manually synchronized with ERP UMs and UM
conversions.
Indirect Users and Enable Feature
Use this new hybrid browse to edit indirect user data that is downloaded from EE user data, such
as EAM-specific user details and preferences. The indirect user record is linked to the user’s
corresponding employee ID. This link reduces unnecessary duplication of information. EAM can
automatically populate employee information required for the transaction based on the user’s
ID.
The following new drill downs were added to the Indirect Users hybrid browse:
User Sites: The User Sites drill-down link associates a specific site with a user and lets you
indicate if the site is a primary site. You can specify a user in a single- or multiple-site
configuration.
Approval Groups: The Approval Groups drill-down link associates a specific approval
group with a user. When editing an existing approval group, you can edit the stores
requisition approval group or the requisition approval group.
Account Groups: The Account Groups drill-down link associates a specific account
group with a user.
Use the Enable Indirect Users action to enable EAM users that you select from the list of ERP users
that displays in the Enable Indirect Users browse. You can quickly view the Enabled in EAM
column in the browse to find users who are not enabled for EAM and enable them in bulk from
a single form.

and Master Instruction List records. When an owner group is entered as the owner, any member
of that group can update the record.
Indirect Departments
Use this new hybrid browse to define and maintain EAM departments. Departments are only
used within EAM. They are not downloaded or reflected in the ERP, but are used for reporting
EAM transactions. EAM passes the department code to requisitions and POs from asset work
orders, equipment, and stores requisitions.
Requisition Approval Group
Use this new hybrid browse to create or edit an indirect requisition approval group who can
authorize expenditures. For indirect requisitions, you can require that the requisition be
authorized by specified users who are part of an approval group. Once all members of the
group approve the requisition, the requisition can be processed.
Indirect Accounting
Indirect GL Calendars and Enable Feature
Use this new hybrid browse to set up, maintain, and view the GL accounting periods for a
calendar year for EAM. You define the indirect GL calendar as part of your financial setup for
EAM. Use the Main panel to define initial data; then, use the grid to define the periods of the
calendar. You can view period details or close a period through the Details form.
You can use two new Indirect Domains actions to quickly Copy or Close an indirect GL

Indirect Accounts, Indirect Sub Accounts, and Enable Features
Use this new Indirect Accounts hybrid browse to charge labor, issue parts, or purchase materials
for a site. You can use an account as the basis of routing approvals for a purchase requisition
and a stores requisition. Associate each account with a stores requisition approval group and a
requisition approval group.
You can create a new account, edit an existing account, or delete an account. When you do
create a new account, it should also exist in the ERP. You can also download accounts using
the EE Account Download function. Add a range of cost centers for the account in the grid in
the Cost Center Range subpanel.
Use the new Indirect Sub Accounts hybrid browse to create sub-accounts that you can use to
analyze activity on an account code and to provide detail for financial reporting. Use
sub-accounts to report on the financial activity of business units or divisions in an entity. You can
create a new sub-account, edit an existing sub-account, or delete a sub-account. When you
do create a new sub-account, it should also exist in the ERP.
You can also use new Enable actions to enable the Indirect Accounts or Indirect Sub Accounts
for EAM.
Indirect Cost Centers and Enable Feature
Use this new hybrid browse to create, maintain, or activate cost centers for EAM. You can use a
cost center as a basis of routing approvals for a purchase requisition and a store requisition.
Associate each account with a stores requisition approval group and a requisition approval
group. You can also use the new Enable action to enable the indirect cost centers for EAM.
Account Groups
Use the new Account Groups hybrid browse to create and maintain an account group; then,
add a list of account numbers to the group. When you select the Authorize action in
Requisitions, the system validates the associated account group in the requisition with the user
permissions. If the system finds the proper permissions, the requisition approval process begins.
Cost Center Groups
Use the new Cost Center Groups hybrid browse to create and maintain a cost center group;
then, add a list of cost centers to the group. Like the account groups, when you select the
Authorize action in Requisitions, the system validates the associated cost center group in the
requisition with the user permissions. If the system finds the proper permissions, the requisition
approval process begins.
Miscellaneous
Character 1 and Character 2 UDF Codes
There are several user-defined fields in EAM. Modules with user-defined fields are Employee,
Equipment, Inventory, Asset Work Orders, Projects, and Jobs. Each has two user-defined fields:

Release Notes QAD Adaptive ERP with Adaptive UX 2022.1
character 1 and character 2. These provide significant flexibility for tracking user-defined
information against specific records in EAM.
Base Data
Base Data new features include the following:
Supplier-Specific Schedule Default Settings
A new Schedule Defaults subpanel has been added to Suppliers > Supplier Domain Settings.
Fields let you define schedule defaults for a specific supplier. Most of the field values in this
program initially default from Purchasing Control > Supplier Schedule.
To have the supplier domain use settings from Purchasing Control, do not select the Create
Schedule Defaults option for the supplier domain.
Previously, you had to set up these supplier-specific defaults in .NET UI Supplier Control
Maintenance (5.5.1.6).
User-Defined Fields in Business Relations Contacts
Using Design Layout mode, you can now add user-defined fields (UDFs) for Contacts in Business
Relations > Addresses.
This UDF enhancement supports the country localization requirements of QAD’s
Internationalization extensions.
Analysis Groups in Item Certification
When adding items to the supplier certification process using Supplier Domain Settings > Item
Certification, an Applies To field now lets you select Analysis Group, as well as Item.
Using analysis groups can save time by allowing you to enter a single record that represents
many individual items, rather than having to create a record for each item.
Security
Security now includes:
Copy Bulk Actions in Roles Browse
The Roles hybrid browse in QAD Adaptive UX contains two new bulk actions, Copy and Copy &
Merge.
The Copy action lets you copy a role's QAD .NET UI and Web UI permissions, and, optionally,
copy the users assigned to the role and assign them to the new roles. You have the option to
not copy the user assignments, to replicate the user assignments from the copied role to the
new role, or to move the user assignments from the copied role to the new role.

The Copy & Merge bulk action lets you copy the menus, permissions, and user access from
multiple roles and to merge them into a new role. As with the Copy action, you have the option
to copy the user assignments.
When you submit both the Copy action and the Copy & Merge action, the system displays a
message indicating that the results will be sent to your inbox.
Financials Security
Previously, the Save button in screens was only enabled when the user had full Write
permissions. The Save button is now enabled for broader permission types that Financials users
can have such as Write To Initial permissions. Users with permissions of this type often do not
have full Write permission.
Role Permissions for Adaptive UX Resources Not Mapped to .NET UI
In the permissions tree for Role Permissions, Adaptive UX resources that are not mapped to any
.NET UI resources are now grouped under an AUX Only folder.
QAD Enterprise Platform
QAD Enterprise Platform new features in this release include enhancements to Analytics,
Extensibility, Interoperability, and many other areas.
Analytics
There have been a number of significant changes in Analytics:
The action center user experience is now based on Logi Composer v7.
Logi Composer action centers, KPIs, and visuals are always stored as Configuration Data.
In development environments, you can still associate an action center with an app so
that it is part of the package and load procedure for moving app data between
environments.
The Action Centers view is a new screen that contains information about all of the action
centers in an environment.
These changes and other Analytics updates are described in more detail in the Action Center
Updates section.
Services/Extensibility
Services and Extensibility now include:
You can now add conditional fields to the BC browse. Conditional fields display data
based on conditions. Adding these conditional fields to the browse definition rather than
the business component is more performant and lightweight.
You can mark a business component as Not Extensible to support backwards
compatibility management and keep the integrity of business components and their
surrounding functionality. When a business component is not extensible, you cannot
create certain types of extensions, unless the environment is in the owning namespace of
the business component.

Release Notes QAD Adaptive ERP with Adaptive UX 2022.1
A new server OS script is now available to run the YAB activity-feed-update command
without contacting QAD Cloud.
Visualization
Visualization now includes:
You can now configure and override drill downs for internal grids and actions. The Drill
Down From option in the Views > Drill Downs window allows you to drill down from the
browse & form, the form, or the grid of the business component.
The Report type drill downs do not require field mappings.
You can mark a field’s format as dynamic and indicate the source field that drives the
dynamic behavior. Dynamic formatting means that one field's format is dynamically
updated based on the format setup for another field.
Interoperability
Interoperability now includes:
Query REST APIs are now available for business documents. The business document REST
API supports querying multiple records with the capabilities of filtering, sorting, paging,
and returning partial data. Also, the Swagger documentation for business documents is
enhanced to include a query section.
Export configuration can now be based on the active layout or the business component
structure. For some business documents, the active layout does not match the business
document definition, so the Excel import template does not include all needed fields. An
alternate option to access all fields from a business document is introduced to cover
these special business document cases. This alternate template is constructed from the
business component structure definition instead of the active layout, and you can select
all fields for the import template.
