Formostscenes,theAutomaticoptionwillprovidethebestresults.Theshutterspeedisautomaticallysettoproduceoptimum

imagequality.Fluorescentlampsorotherlightsourcescansometimescauseickeringintheimage.Toreduceickerintheimage,

selecttheFlickeroptionthatmatchesthepowerlinefrequency.

TheHoldcurrentoptionlocksthecurrentexposuresettings.

Howtosetupnormalandlowlight

WhenShutterandGainarebothsettoAuto,itispossibletosetthePrioritybetweenlowmotionblurandlownoisemanuallyandto

useadifferentPriorityinNormalLightandinLowLight.

Consideranareawherepeopleorvehiclesmoveduringtheday,butwherethereshouldbenomovementatnight.Tobeableto,

forexample,recognizefacesorlicenseplates,movethenormallightpriorityslidertowardlowmotionblur.Atnighttime,motion

allthewaytotheright),thecameraautomaticallyincreasesgainasbrightnessdecreases.Whenthegainreachesthe

setmaximumgainforlowlight,thecamerawilldecreaseshutterspeeduntilthesetmaximumshutterforlowlightis

CameraTampering

CameraTamperingcangenerateanalarmwheneverthecameraisrepositioned,orwhenthelensiscovered,spray-paintedorseverely

defocused.Tosendanalarm,forexampleanemail,anactionrulemustbesetup.

Toconguretamperingdetection:

1.GotoDetectors>CameraTampering.

2.SettheMinimumduration,thatis,thetimethatmustelapsebeforeanalarmisgenerated.Increasetimetoprevent

falsealarmsforknownconditionsthataffecttheimage.

3.SelectAlarmfordarkimagesifanalarmshouldbegeneratediflightsaredimmedorturnedoff,orifthelensissprayed,

covered,orrenderedseverelyoutoffocus.

4.ClickSave.

Shockdetection

EnableShockDetectionfromtheDetectorsmenu.Shockdetectionisused,forexample,togenerateanalarmiftheproductishit

byanobjectoriftheproductistamperedwith.

UsetheShocksensitivityslidertoadjustthesensitivitylevelatwhichtheproductshouldsendanalarm.Lowsensitivityvalue

impliesthattheproductwillgenerateanalarmonlyifthehitispowerful.Ahighsensitivityvalueimpliesthattheproductwill

generateanalarmevenwithmildtampering.

TiltDetection

TheAxisproductcandetectifithasbeentilted.Itispossibletogenerateanalarmiftheproduct'smountedpositionchanges,for

exampleiftheproductismanipulated.Thedefaulttilttriggerangleissetto3degrees.

SwayingObject

Theswayingobjectlterisusedtoavoidtriggeringalarmsforobjectsthatonlymoveashortdistance.Forexamplemovingtrees,

agsandtheirshadows.Usethelterifsuchobjectscausealotoffalsealarms.Iftheswayingobjectsinthescenearelarge,for

examplelargepondsorlargetrees,useexcludeareasinsteadofthelter.Thelterwillbeappliedtoallmovingobjectsinscene.Ifa

valueissettoohigh,importantobjectsmightnottriggeranalarm.

Whentheswayingobjectlterisenabledandtheapplicationndsamovingobject,theobjectwillnottriggeranalarmuntilithas

travelledadistancelargerthanthesetltervalue.Ifthealarmisusedtostartarecording,congurethepre-triggertimesothatthe

recordingalsoincludesthetimetheobjectmovedinthescenebeforetriggeringanalarm.

Toenablethelter:

1.SelecttheSwayingobjectsoption.

2.Clickonthe

icontoshowtheltersizeintheimage.

3.Usethemousetoadjusttheltersize.Startwithasmallsize.Objectsmovingadistanceshorterthanthedistancefrom

thecenterofthecrosstooneofthearrowheadswillbeignored.Theltercanbemovedtothelocationofaswaying

objecttomakeiteasiertoadjustthesize.Notethatthelterwillbeappliedtoallobjectsintheimage,notonlytothe

onesatthelocationwherethelterisplaced.

4.ClickSavetoapplythelter.

6.Iftheresultisnotsatisfactory,increasetheltersizeinsmallsteps.

Theltersizecanalsobesetbyenteringavaluebetween10and50intheeld.Thevaluecorrespondstothedistancefromthe

centerofthecrosstooneofthearrowheads.Thevalue100impliesthatanobjectmusttravelfromitsinitialpointtoonethirdofthe

imagewidthorheightbeforebeingdetected.Thevalue50implieshalfthatdistance,thatis,theobjectmusttraveladistanceof

onesixthoftheimagewidthorheightbeforebeingdetected.

Theshort-livedobjectslter

Usetheshort-livedobjectsltertoavoidalarmsforobjectsthatonlyappearforashortperiodoftime,suchaslightbeams

fromapassingcarorquicklymovingshadows.

Whenyouturnontheshort-livedobjectslterandtheapplicationndsamovingobject,theobjectdoesnottriggeranalarmuntil

thesettimehaspassed.Ifthealarmisusedtostartarecording,congurethepre-triggertimesothattherecordingalsoincludes

thetimetheobjectmovedinthescenebeforetriggeringthealarm.

SmallObject

Thesmallobjectlterisusedtoavoidtriggeringalarmsforobjectsthataretoosmall.Forexample,ifonlymovingcarsshouldtrigger

alarms,thesmallobjectltercanbeusedtoavoidtriggeringalarmscausedbypeopleandanimals.

Ifusingthesmallobjectlter,takeintoconsiderationthatanobjectfarfromthecameraappearssmallerthananobjectclosetothe

camera.Ifthelterissettoignoreobjectsthesizeofaperson,peoplethatareclosetobecameracanstilltriggeralarmsbecause

theyarelargerthantheltersize.

Toenablethelter:

1.SelecttheSmallobjectsoption.

2.Clickontheicontoshowtheltersizeintheimage.

3.Adjusttheltersize.Startwithasmallvalue.Movingobjectsthattinsidetherectanglewillbeignored.Thelter

displayedintheimagecanbemovedtomakeiteasiertocomparetheltersizewiththesizeofobjectsintheimage.

Notethatthelterwillbeappliedtoallobjectsintheimage,alsotoobjectsthatarenotlocatedatthepositionof

thedisplayedlter.

4.ClickSavetoapplythelter.

5.Usevisualconrmationtoverifythesettings.

6.Iftheresultisnotsatisfactory,increasetheltersizeinsmallsteps.
