100 BIBLE VERSES EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW BY HEART (NRSV)
Holiness: Obeying God's Commands
if my people who are called by my name humble
themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their
wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will
forgive their sin and heal their land.
I appeal to you therefore, brothers and sisters, by the
mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living
sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your
spiritual worship.
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by
the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern
what is the will of God--what is good and acceptable and
perfect.
Do not lag in zeal, be ardent in spirit, serve the Lord.
Rejoice in hope, be patient in suffering, persevere in
prayer.
If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live
peaceably with all.
Happy are your people! Happy are these your servants,
who continually attend you and hear your wisdom!
not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some,
but encouraging one another, and all the more as you
see the Day approaching.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge;
fools despise wisdom
and instruction.
A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs
up anger.
Fullness: The Holy Spirit's Role in Our Lives
Do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery; but be
filled with the Spirit,
as you sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs
among yourselves, singing and making melody to the
Lord in your hearts,
giving thanks to God the Father at all times and for
everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Be subject to one another out of reverence for Christ.
By contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness,
gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against
such things.
